Atturo Tire has expanded its partnership with Carlson Moto and professional short-course off-road driver Andrew Carlson for the 2018 season.

Carlson and his team will compete in a new off-road racing platform sponsored by Lucas Oil this season. In 2017, while driving on Atturo Trail Blade M/T tires, Andrew Carlson won three PRO 2 races and one PRO Light race for The Off-Road Championship (TORC) Series, which announced on March 23 that it has canceled its 2018 season. To fill that void, Lucas Oil announced a partnership with three off-road tracks to form a new short-course racing platform, in which Carlson will compete.

The 2018 Lucas Oil Midwest Series will begin with the 25th Forest County Potawatomi Brush Run, from June 15-17 at Crandon International Off-Road Raceway in Crandon, Wisconsin.

“We’re proud to continue our racing success with Carlson Moto and Andrew,” says Michael Mathis, Atturo president, said the company is excited to partner with Carlson Moto and Carlson saying that Carlson’s 2017 season shows that when they go to their local independent Atturo tire dealer to get a Trail Blade M/T, “they’re getting a stylish, aggressive tire that’s not only designed well, but also race-proven.”

Carlson attested to how Atturo tires are built to withhold intense, off-road demands.

“Having the right tire – a durable tire like the Atturo Trail Blade M/T – can really make or break your race weekend or your entire season,” Carlson said. “The tire is the only contact we have between the truck and track, and we’re racing on all kinds of surfaces -– clay, sand, black dirt, just about anything… We’re excited to grow with Atturo this coming season as we chase the new Lucas Oil series championship.”

The 2018 Lucas Oil Midwest Series schedule is as follows:

June 15-17: 25th Forest County Potawatomi Brush Run, at Crandon International Off-Road Raceway, Crandon, Wisconsin

July 13-14: 3rd Annual at ERX Motor Park, Elk River, Minnesota

Aug. 10-12: 43rd Annual at Bark River International Raceway, Bark River, Michigan

Aug. 31 to Sept. 1: 49th World Championship Off-Road Races, Crandon, Wisconsin

Sept. 2-3: 3rd Annual Crandon World Cup/ AMSOIL Cup, Crandon, Wisconsin

If approved, H.R 1435 would prevent the EPA from allowing California’s Zero Emissions Vehicle regulations that would ban motor vehicles with internal combustion engines from taking effect.

Legislation

U.S. Rep. John Joyce (R-PA) has introduced a bill (H.R. 1435) to protect Americans’ right to choose the technology that powers their motor vehicles.

The “Preserving Choice in Vehicle Purchases Act” was introduced in response to California’s plans to ban the sale of new gas- and diesel-powered cars and trucks in 2035 unless certain conditions are met, Joyce's office says. If approved, H.R 1435 would prevent the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) from allowing California’s Zero Emissions Vehicle regulations that would ban the sale or use of new motor vehicles with internal combustion engines from taking effect.
