The Cary, N.C., dealer took the honor based on its financial performance and business history, customer service, community involvement, and business strategies and goals.
“We chose Atlantic Tire & Service because of its commitment to customer service and dedication to the community,” said Chamber president Sharon Rosche. “It was apparent that they practiced what they preached because of their business growth.”
The company was named a semi-finalist Tire Review’s 2007 Top Shop Awards and has been the recipient of several other awards, including the ASE’s prestigious Blue Seal of Excellence Award (the first recipient of this award in Cary), the Cary Chamber’s Community Service Award and Employer of the Year Award and a Maggy Award from Cary Magazine for Best Mechanic. Owner Anthony Blackman also won the Cary Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year Award in 2006.
“We are honored to receive this award,” said Blackman. “But it’s extra special to know we stood out from the crowd because of our commitment to customer service and dedication to the community. We wouldn’t be anywhere without our loyal customers and great staff.”
The company sponsors and supports almost 20 local community projects and school fundraisers a year. It also encourages its employees to join local civic organizations like the Rotary Club and Jaycees, to participate in philanthropy projects like the American Cancer Society’s Road to Recovery program, and to volunteer at local schools.
