The tiremaker chose to announce these tires during the WasteExpo 2016 in Vegas because the SDS solid line is a perfect fit for the waste management industry. According to Bruce Besancon, vice president of marketing for Alliance Tire Americas.
“We’re seeing a lot of interest in our solid tires from operators of scrapyards and transfer stations, where puncture hazards are highest and downtime is extremely costly,” Besancon said.
Besancon noted that the tiremaker is also seeing continued interest in its pneumatic lines as well.
“All in all, what we’re seeing is that waste management customers are looking for a wide range of purpose-built tires that can handle the punishing environments, diverse job sites, broad array of materials in the waste stream, heavy loads and relentless schedules they work in every day,” Besancon said.
