Apollo Tyres promoted its former president and chief financial officer, Sunam Sarkar, to the new position of president and chief business officer. Until a replacement is announced, Sarkar will continue as CFO in addition to his new duties, Apollo said.
In his new role, Sarkar is in charge of the company’s corporate strategy, integrated supply chain including raw material sourcing, production planning and logistics operations, and information technology. He will also oversee Apollo’s China operations, corporate social responsibility and corporate communications, according to the company.
Sarkar joined Apollo in 1999 as the head of the company’s marketing function. In 2004, joined the company’s board of directors and continues as an executive director.
