Alliance Tire Group will consolidate its regional presence and put in place a new business unit structure, focusing on North America, Europe and emerging markets as its key business units.
ATG tapped Nagesh Basavanhalli as group president of the newly formed emerging markets business unit based in Mumbai and Peter Baur as president of ATG’s Europe unit based in The Netherlands. The two join James Clark, head of Alliance Tire Americas.
“ATG believes that these three regions present unique opportunities and challenges which require deep understanding of regional dynamics and astute leadership to drive growth, as we progress towards our target of exceeding $1 billion in revenues by 2018,” said Yogesh Mahansaria, founder and CEO.
Basavanhalli joins ATG from Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, where he was president and managing director for Indian operations. He will be responsible for developing and executing the strategy to grow business in the emerging markets comprising of Asia Pacific, Middle East, Africa, India, South Africa and Brazil.
Baur joins ATG from E/D/E Group where he was the executive member of the board of directors and CEO. Baur was responsible for expanding E/D/E Group’s subsidiaries and spinning off the international business into an independent stock company. At ATG, Baur will be responsible for spearheading the business in Europe. Baur will further build on the distributor network and client base that has been nurtured by the existing team in Europe and build further relationships with OE partners.
