While net orders of trailers for June were off 1% month over month, orders are will up 42% year over year, according to ACT Research. In total June had 22,000 orders.
“Strength in June came from specialty trailers, with platforms posting a 42% m/m gain while liquid and bulk tanks both surged over 75% from May levels,” said Frank Maly, director of CV transportation analysis and research at ACT. “The industry is also enjoying low cancellations, driven by firm fleet investment commitments.”
In addition, ACT reported that inventory has increased 6% month over month due to tight capacity at fleets interfering with pick-up of new equipment.
