The Alliance of Automotive Service Providers of New Jersey (AASP/NJ) hosted their Sixth Annual Race Night at Pole Position Raceway in Jersey City on June 13, 2017.
AASP/NJ will donate $1,000 from the event’s proceeds for the second year in a row to the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center to help with their fight against prostate cancer.
“We always enjoy having this event,” said Jeff McDowell, AASP/NJ president. “It sort of kicks off the summer for us with a nice gathering of shops who can get together and enjoy some food, drink and racing. I like to call Race Night a ‘camaraderie night’ because it’s one of the few times we repairers have a chance to just relax and have some fun without the distractions of the business. I think everyone enjoys it. The fact that we can use some funds to help in the fight against prostate cancer makes it even more meaningful.”
More than 35 racers from across the industry participated in the three-race electric go-karts series. In first place was back-to-back champion Brian Natale of Pace Collision, in second Michael Circello also of Pace Collision and in third Barry Evans of Cosmo’s Auto Parts.
