The Alliance of Automotive Service Providers of New Jersey (AASP/NJ) hosted its fifth Annual Race Night last week at Pole Position Raceway in Jersey City, this year raising $1,000 to donate to fight prostate cancer.
“This is one of my favorite nights of the year,” said Jeff McDowell, AASP/NJ president. “It really gets our minds off the job for a couple of hours and lets us relax, compete and have fun. We came up worth the idea to donate this year because so many friends and members of AASP/NJ have been affected with prostate cancer over the years. It gives us an opportunity to give back.”
Held to help boost camaraderie between automotive repair shops, the event began with pizza and drinks and was followed by a practice race, a qualifier and a finale.
Close to 50 racers competed for the win with Brian Natale (Pace Collision) taking first place; Pedro Suares (Maxon Mazda/Hyundai) taking second; and Kyle Bossick (Ocean Bay Auto Body) taking third place.
