With college football kicking off last night and this weekend, Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. gears up to celebrate 60 years of aerial broadcast coverage of college football. All season Goodyear will be celebrating with a marketing program highlighting college football traditions, and a chance to ride the Goodyear blimp.
“Goodyear has a strong tradition of innovation and game-changing performance, both on the road and in the air,” said Gary Melliere, Goodyear’s general manager of sponsorships. “This year we’re celebrating college football traditions that inspire superior performance, and we’re inviting fans to come along for the ride.”
As the blimp travels around the country this season, Goodyear will select fans for a chance to ride in the blimp. Fans can learn more about the opportunity by following Goodyear Blimp’s “Road to the Goodyear Cotton Bowl” via Facebook and Twitter, the tiremaker said.
The Goodyear Blimp first provided aerial views during the 1955 Rose Bowl, and has been covering college football ever since. Goodyear’s aerial coverage kicks off this weekend over the Alabama vs. Wisconsin AdvoCare Classic.
