Ontario vehicle owners’ auto insurance policies are about to change, according to The Toronto Star.
As part of the province’s budget plan, Ontario will require that insurance companies offer drivers a discount for having winter tires on their vehicles. The proposal, according to media reports, is part of an effort by the province to reduce the cost of auto insurance for Ontario’s drivers.
Ontario’s government did not say the reduction amount, but according to The Star’s report, some companies already offer drivers discount of up to 5% for equipping winter tires.
