The latest offering comes from Guildford Tyre Co. and it’s fair to say that it is not likely to be mistaken for Pirelli’s offering. Forget Kate Moss, so long Penelope Cruz; when it comes to models, every expense has been spared, as the stars of Guildford Tyre’s calendar are – the company’s own tyre fitters (and director Matt Sunderland).
It’s all in a good cause, as the calendar is being sold in aid of the Marie Curie Cancer Care appeal, which provides quality nursing to cancer sufferers free of charge. Heather Elson, of Guildford Tyre, says that the company is hoping to raise over £20,000 from the project.
Sponsorship covered production costs and two local photographers donated their services free of charge. Interest has been keen so far, with press coverage and interviews on BBC local radio – people are seeing tyres in a completely different light. So if you are in the area, why not pop into Guildford Tyre’s depots and try to match the different months to the faces – if, indeed, that is the word we’re looking for.
