TRIB Partners with TIA for Educational Video

The Tire Retread & Repair Information Bureau, with the Tire Industry Association, has launched a video explaining the true causes of rubber on the roads.

The video will be displayed at trade shows TRIB attends and be offered to news outlets to help dispel one of the continuing myths of retreading, the association said.

“This is one myth about retreaded tires that continues to persist despite mountains of evidence otherwise” said David Stevens, TRIB managing director. “Whenever people see rubber fragments on the side of the road, they often assume it has come from a retreaded tire. However, there have been numerous State and Federal studies that have shown that rubber on our roads is primarily created by tires that fail from being run underinflated or overloaded, or that have run over some type of road hazard, or have some other improper maintenance or operational issue. These issues affect both new and retreaded tires equally and have nothing to do with the manufacturing or retreading process.”

The video is available on TRIB’s website as well as on YouTube. Stevens also encourages companies in the retread and repair industry to share the video on their sites.

Members of TRIB can also receive a free copy of the video by calling 703-533-7677 or emailing TRIB at [email protected].
