The Toyo Proxes R888R, DOT competition tire, is now available in the United States. The tire was previously available only in Europe and Australia.
Racers and vehicle customizers in all segments embraced the Proxes R888 for its versatility and longevity on the track, its broad range of fitments and overall good looks, Toyo Tire U.S.A. Corp. said.
“The Proxes R888R represents an evolution of the Proxes R888 in its design, technology and performance,” said Marc Sanzenbacher, senior manager, Competition Performance Products Division, Toyo Tire U.S.A. Corp. “It provides dramatically increased levels of performance for use in numerous NASA and SCCA classes, as well as Time Attack and high-performance driving schools – all while maintaining a great appearance for car customizers.”
The Proxes R888R features an optimized contact patch that provides improved braking as well as acceleration and cornering in dry conditions, the tiremaker said. The tire also reaches its ideal operating temperature quickly due to its compounding.
The Proxes R888R is available in a full range of sizes to fit 13- up to 20-inch diameter wheels. Additional sizes will be released through summer 2017.
