Toyo Launches New Tire for Trucks, SUVs

Now available at Toyo Tires dealers across the U.S., Toyo Tire U.S.A. Corp. introduces the Toyo Proxes ST III, designed for increased performance and dynamic styling for sport trucks and SUVs.

The Proxes ST III features a distinctive arrowhead tread design and is designed to strike a balance between dynamic looks and sport-oriented performance.

Arrowhead tapers help deliver increased tread block stiffness resulting in better straight-line stability. Directional shoulder blocks stabilize the tread blocks for better braking performance and a quieter ride. And in wet conditions, “lightning grooves” allow for better water evacuation. In addition, the multi-wave sipes minimize irregular wear for greater longevity and help produce a smooth, quiet ride.

With a wider tread and a new silica-based tread compound, the Proxes ST III stops up to 6 feet shorter in wet conditions while delivering superb handling, excellent all-season performance, consistent wear and a smooth, quiet ride, according to the company. The tire is also backed by a 40,000-mile warranty.

“Toyo Tires was one of the first brands to develop a sport truck tire with the introduction of its Proxes S/T,” said Randy Gaetz, senior vice president of sales with Toyo Tire U.S.A. “The Proxes S/T helped establish the sport truck and SUV trend, which has since been embraced by vehicle manufacturers and custom builders. Both the design and compound technology found in the Proxes ST III help to make it the new standard in that segment.”

The new Toyo Proxes ST III is available in sizes to fit 17- to 24-inch wheels, and widths up to 335mm.
