A string of tire store burglaries in the St. Louis area are allegedly connected, according to media reports.
On the night of Feb. 5, thieves broke into a storage room and stole $4,200 in used tires, wheels and batteries at a Plaza Tire Service location, said local media. Later that same night, investigators believe the same thieves backed up a truck and stole 140 used tires valued at $4,200 at a Dobbs Tire location, according to local news outlets.
Plaza Tire employees told a local news outlet that this burglary was the second break-in in six months, and that thieves came back a few days later and tried to break in a third time.
