The Tire Industry Association will induct Tom Formanek as its new president during its Annual Membership Meeting on Oct. 31 at the Tropicana in Las Vegas. Formanek will serve a one-year term.
Formanek, who is currently regional sales manager at Stellar Industries, got his start in industry at Unicover Inc. Over the years he also worked as sales and division manager for Collins, a division of DMC, prior to its purchase by Stellar.
Formanek first became involved with the association when it was still the National Tire Dealers & Retreaders Association. In 1993, he was elected to the board of directors where he served on the executive committee and as supplier group chairman in 1997. Formanek continued his involvement as a member of the board of directors through the Tire Association of North America (TANA) years.
His involvement includes being chairman of the events, training, finance, strategic planning and nominating committees. He also served as TIA’s treasurer for six years before being elected to secretary and advancing to vice president.
The Annual Membership Meeting will be hosted from noon – 12:30 p.m. at the Tropicana Las Vegas (Montecristo 3 & 4). All TIA members are invited and there is no cost to attend.
