TIA Sponsoring EMV Webinar

The Tire Industry Association is helping dealers prepare for upcoming credit card processing changes with a webinar, “Credit Card Processing and Preparing for EMV.” Presented by the TIA’s partner HotRod Processing, the webinar is scheduled for June 2, 2015 at 2 p.m.TireIndustryAssociation

Designed to give consumers a more secure transaction, EMV (Europay, MasterCard, and Visa) is a global standard for integrated circuit cards. EMV incorporates an embedded chip rather than the traditional magnetic strip and will require businesses to make significant equipment upgrades.

While EMV isn’t mandatory, retailers that don’t upgrade to EMV compliant card terminals by Oct. 1, 2015, may be liable in fraudulent transactions, TIA said.

In its webinar HotRod will explain EMV and how the business can assist with a tire dealers credit card processing system.

The webinar is complimentary and open to all TIA members and prospective members. Register online by clicking here.
