TIA Offering Advanced Hands-on Earthmover, Farm Tire Training

Tire Industry Association is now offering Advanced Hands-On Training for technicians in the earthmover and farm tire service industries.

Designed to provide additional education for those that have completed the TIA Basic ETS and Basic FTS courses, students will receive comprehensive hands-on training using a service truck and hydraulic tools.

“Nothing replaces hands-on instruction in the farm and earthmover tire service industries, so these classes are a direct response to the demand from our members to provide these unique training classes,” said Kevin Rohlwing, TIA senior vice president of training. “While classroom instruction and a written examination is necessary in most instances, these classes are not part of a certification or certificate program so all of the focus is on using the tools and equipment safely and correctly.”

The class schedule for 2017 is as follows:

Earthmover Tire Service Classes

April 18-20 at AME International, Brooksville, Fla.

August 8-10 at Stellar Industries, Garner, Iowa

Sept. 12-14 at Stellar Industries, Garner, Iowa

Farm Tire Service Classes

January 17-19 at AME International, Brooksville, Fla.

June 12-15 at Stellar Industries, Garner, Iowa

July 11-13 at Stellar Industries, Garner, Iowa

Registrants will be required to complete the TIA Basic Level ETS or FTS courses as a prerequisite. Tuition is $495 for one or two attendees. Companies sending three or more participants will receive a discounted rate of $445 per student. Attendees who successfully complete the three-day class will receive a Certificate of Completion.

The advance classes are supported by AME International, Stellar Industries and Tire Life.

If you could boil this year's Continental Tire GOLD member meeting into one takeaway, it's that the tire manufacturer is putting a whole lot of effort into listening and responding to its dealer base. Continental doesn't own company stores, so building a strong value proposition around the company's brands and products with its distributors and retailers is the most effective path to success. To maximize the mutual benefits of this partnership, Continental leadership says acting on the will of its dealer base – whether that's about product, programs, distribution, or anything else – is paramount.
