TIA Bringing ATS Course to Cincy

TIA-ACT-classThe Tire Industry Association will host its Automotive Tire Service (ATS) Certification Course Sept. 16-19 in Cincinnati.

The course provides an in-depth and comprehensive instruction on the recommended procedures for servicing automobiles and light trucks and is designed for the professional passenger and light truck technician, TIA said. Topics covered include the relationship between torque and clamping as well as TPMS relearn procedures on domestic and import vehicles and more.

The upcoming ATS course will take place at Cincinnati State Technical & Community College.

Wheel Group Holding (WGH) is recalling 520,000 AMP Terrain Attack R/T, Terrain Attack A/T, and Terrain Pro A/T tires with load ranges SL, XL, C, D, E, and F. The tires are labeled as snow tires, but do not have sufficient traction to perform in all snow weather conditions, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. As such, these tires fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 139, "New Pneumatic Radial Tires for Light Vehicles."
