Tire Group International appointed Joaquin Gonzalez Jr. president of the company, effective April 1.
Gonzalez joined TGI in 2006 as its chief operating officer where he developed and implemented TGI’s current ERP system. According to the company, Gonzalez increased sales over 20% in one year and double sales over the next five years. In 2012, he was promoted to chief marketing officer.
“Joaquin has steadily taken on a larger role in the management of the company over the past few years; I felt his title should better reflect those added responsibilities,” Tony Gonzalez, founder and chairman of TGI, said. “I am extremely proud of my brother and his accomplishments. His ability to lead and manage our team is clearly evident in the positive results TGI has been able to post since his addition in 2006.”
Gonzalez joined TGI after completing his football career with the University of Miami Hurricanes, NFL Cleveland Browns and Indianapolis Colts.
