Aluminum wheel manufacturer Superior Industries International will close its manufacturing facility in Rogers, Ark.
The closure is part of an initiative to reduce costs and enhance its global competitive position and is expected to save $15 million in labor costs annually, the company said.
“This action follows a comprehensive review of the company’s cost position in what continues to be an intensely competitive environment,” said Don Stebbins, president and CEO of Superior Industries. “Our board and management team remain focused on building an efficient, operationally stronger organization that can compete effectively with manufacturers around the globe.”
Operations at Rogers are expected to cease by the end of the year. With the facility closure, production will be shifted to other facilities including those in Fayetteville, Ark. and Chihuahua, Mexico, the company said.
Superior expects to incur $2 – 2.5 Million in severance costs.
