New England-based Sullivan Tire and Auto Service has awarded five college-bound high school students in the with $1,000 scholarships.
This is the third year Sullivan Tire presented scholarships to student members of the Germantown Neighborhood Center from the company’s $25,000 Sullivan Tire Scholarship Fund. The fund, which has been set up over a five-year period, allows for $5,000 per year in scholarships
To apply for the scholarship, students must be a member of the Germantown Neighborhood Center and be accepted to a college or post-high school technical school. A committee selects scholarship recipients based on their application and essay.
This year’s recipients were Sylvia Sanchez, Boston College; William Young, Dean College; Victoria Samsel, Temple University; Vanessa Anjunthe, UMass Boston; and Patricia Brennan, Quincy College.
