Brembo introduced its B-M8, an all-new 8-piston caliper, and its B-M4 companion at this week’s SEMA Show/Global Tire Expo (booth #23561).
The B-M8, which won a SEMA New Product Award in the Engineered New Product category, is an 8-piston monobloc caliper with four pads, suitable for rotors up to 420mm x 40mm (16.53 x 1.57 in.). It is available in four colors – red, yellow, black and white, with a few “optional” colors.
Made specifically for the front braking systems of trucks, SUVs and large high- performance sedans, the B-M8 is validated for torques up to 5,700Nm (4,204 lb. ft.) and is manufactured using a new, innovative 4D technology casting process, according to Brembo. With this technology, the cast caliper has technical features commonly used in racing billet or forged calipers. The B-M8 is cast with an internal fluid passage versus the more conventional rigid pipe connections, the maker added.
The companion caliper, the B-M4, for rotors up to 380mm x 30mm, is suitable for the rear braking systems of larger vehicles, as well as front applications for smaller cars.
Brembo said the B-M8 and B-M4 are ideal for a variety of domestic and import trucks, SUVs and sedans.
