RMA Releases Tire Shipment Data

The Rubber Manufacturers Association estimates that total U.S. tire shipments will reach 312.million in 2015.

Recently released data from the associations shows a slight increases in OE tires, light truck replacement and medium/heavy truck OE and replacement to be up in 2015. Light truck and passenger replacement tire shipments are down in 2015, the association reported.

OE passenger tires will see a jump of 2.3 million tires, OE truck and replacement truck shipments each increase of .5 million tires and replacement LT tires an increase of .2 million tires over 2014. Replacement passenger tires fell 1.8 million year over year and OE truck tires dropped by .3 million.

Giti Tire announces winners of STEAM competition

New this year, the winning teams from each division will progress to compete out of state.

Giti Tire revealed the winners of its STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) Competition in Chester County, SC, where the company's first North American manufacturing facility stands.

Winners included Great Falls Elementary School in the Elementary Division; Chester Middle School in the Middle School Division; and Lewisville High School in the High School Division.
