Targeted to launch this summer through Beijing Polk-CATARC VIC Co., a joint venture between R. L. Polk & Co. and the Chinese Automotive Technology and Research Centre, the China data will provide geographic and vehicle configuration detail down to the postal code areas of the country.
Polk’s Gary Meteer, account director for commercial vehicle and automotive aftermarket, says the new China reports will allow Polk customers to maximize their sales opportunities by better understanding the market in China for commercial vehicles.
Meteer says the reports will provide commercial vehicle registrations and data in China by province, city, district and postal code to commercial truck and engine manufacturers and other customers in the commercial vehicle segment. Previously, only national level sales and production data was available.
“China is undeniably one of the largest and fastest growing commercial vehicle markets in the world, and Polk is committed to helping our customers capitalize on global opportunities,” says Meteer. “With this new data, our customers can determine where vehicles are purchased and how they are being used, allowing them to leverage that information to make strategic business decisions in China.” (Tire Review/Akron)
