Pirelli Rolls Out Truck Tire Products for North America

TP Commercial Solutions reveals at the 2017 Mid-America Trucking Show it is ready to launch Pirelli-branded radial truck tires, agricultural tires and off-the-road tires, along with its value-priced Formula brand, to the U.S. and Canada.

Pirelli Tyre S.p.A.’s commercial tire business entity, TP Commercial Solutions, revealed at the 2017 Mid-America Trucking Show it is launching Pirelli-branded radial truck tires, agricultural tires and off-the-road tires, along with its value-priced Formula brand, to the U.S. and Canada. The announcement comes a year after Pirelli announced it was entering the U.S. commercial tire market.

“We are excited to announce at MATS that we have the start of a solid product line-up now available for sale – and most importantly, all of these products uphold Pirelli’s iconic brand values and quality after exhaustive testing on our end in this market,” said Clif Armstrong, president of TP Commercial Solutions.

New products from Pirelli include the Pentathlon, Pirelli’s premium long haul product line for the U.S. and Canada; G:85 on/off road line and FH:01 Motor Coach for bus fleets. Of these new  tires and lines, the following five tires were showcased at MATS:

Pentathlon D

The Pentathlon D will be the first tire launch from the Pentathlon line and is named for its five distinct focuses: high mileage, energy efficiency, even wear, high traction and high retreadability. A premium long haul drive tire, the Pentathlon D is SmartWay-verified and offers fleets high mileage and fuel savings and low emission benefits from EcoImpact features. The tire also features a dual layer tread compound for long lasting performance, an undertread compound to equal low rolling resistance and fuel consumption, an optimized pattern geometry, and 3SB belt evolution for durable and even wear, Pirelli notes.

Additionally, a directional tread pattern offers grip on wet and dry, and the tire features Pirelli’s patented SATT (Spiral Advanced Technology for Truck) technology and Hexa Bead Wire for retreadability needs.

FG:85 and TG:85

The G:85 Series is available in both an all position rib product as well as an aggressive drive tire. Ideal for mixed use vehicles, these tires are designed to enhance structural integrity while resisting extreme stress factors and laceration, Pirelli said. The G:85 Series tires are equipped with a durable casing for multiple retreads.

FH:01 Motor Coach

The long haul and regional all position FH:01 Motor Coach tire is designed for the demanding bus fleet market with durability and a smooth comfortable ride, Pirelli said. The tire features an optimized tread pattern to promote steering precision and grip on both dry and wet surfaces and the Pirelli patented shoulder tread contour for even distribution of pressure, resulting in even wear and high mileage, the tiremaker adds.

Formula Driver II All Position rib

The Formula Driver II All Position rib is part of Pirelli’s tier 2 Formula brand. The tire will be available in limited sizes and then expand to a full product line, Pirelli said. Formula Driver II offers value in mileage, handling and durability with Pirelli SATT technology, which was engineered to enhance uniformity of wear, tire life, handling characteristics and retreadability, the tiremaker adds.

“All of these products offer best in class benefits for North American fleet needs. This was proven during our dedicated local testing phase thanks to ongoing innovations in Pirelli’s tire technology. Pirelli has been a world leader in tire technology for over 140 years. We’re confident in the results, and in providing superior products for truck and fleet applications. We look forward to building relationships and discussing our products’ features and benefits in-depth at the show,” adds Armstrong.

TP Commercial Solutions supplies commercial truck tires and fleet solutions with the Pirelli brand to the North American market and is headquartered in Rome, Ga.
