A Les Schwab Tire Center in South Lake Tahoe, Calif., was one of the many victims of tire slashings caused by ninja-star like devices in the area, local media reports.
According to the Tahoe Daily Tribune, nearly 100 tires have been punctured by “ninja caltrops,” a weapon made up of two or more sharp areas that are designed to always have one side point up, in the last month.
The local tire dealer Lilly’s Tire Services has also experience these bizarre tire punctures.
Drivers affected by the tire slashings have been all over the city on roads and in parking lots.
The South lake Tahoe Police Department currently has no leads or witnesses, local media said.
