Kelly has introduced a new drive tire that the company said is designed for exceptional traction in pickup-and-delivery applications, as well as in specialty applications such as school bus and metro operations. The new, open-shoulder Kelly KTD, available in 225 and 245/70R19.5 sizes, features a tread design with 400 molded-in sipes to enhance traction. For curbing and scrubbing, the tire features rubber compounds to help resist chunking, chipping and cracking from the daily bumps and bruises the tire encounters during in-city driving. Buttressed sidewalls help to extend casing life, the tiremaker added.
