Michelin North America Inc. recently introduced its newest compact-line tire, the Michelin Power Digger, at the ARA Rental Show in Orlando.
The bias tire is designed for wheeled excavators with a dual fitment for both original equipment and replacement applications, Michelin said.
“With 80 percent of wheeled excavators in the market operating with a dual configuration, the Power Digger provides a superior solution for construction performance,” said Justin L. Brock, North America compact line business manager for Michelin agriculture tires. “To offer true market value, the tires that support this equipment must have resistance to everyday site impacts — the Power Digger offers this and more.”
The 10.00-20 Power Digger tire offers thicker sidewalls for impact resistance and a directional-lug design for excellent stability, plus the tire is structurally designed for more stability in the contact patch area as the machine carries out 360-degree movements on varied surfaces, Michelin said.
Additionally, the pronounced center arch of the tire contains more rubber for better wear and the tire has a higher-load index of 147.
