Kumho Unveils NBA All-Star Plans

Kumho-Carmelo-NBAAs the official tire of the NBA, Kumho Tire USA has announced several plans for the NBA All-Star 2015 in New York City. The tiremaker will have special signage and programs around the NBA All-Star 2015 event and has teamed up with seven-time all-star Carmelo Anthony to be featured in several of its promotions.

“We are excited for New York to feel Kumho’s presence and support for the NBA everywhere they turn during NBA All-Star,” said Harry Choi, president and CEO of Kumho Tire USA. “Fan engagement is a top priority for us and we believe Carmelo is the perfect brand ambassador to deliver the best experience to NBA fans.”

Kumho will take over the subway train between Times Square and Grand Central station wrapping the cars inside and out during the event, according to the company. More than just subway cars, the tiremaker plans to host interactive fan experience at the Times Square subway station beginning Jan. 26, featuring a digital version of the arcade classic “Pop-A-Shot” game, Kumho said.

Kumho’s branding will also be featured on digital billboards and other promotional signage around Times Square and Pennsylvania Station. Additionally, Kumho will have an activation area at the NBA FIT Court at NBA House and present the NBA Development League All-Star Game 2015.

On social media, Kumho launched a “Prove your Move” promotion where fans can submit photos of videos to the company’s Twitter and Instagram for the chance to play the game HORSE against Carmelo Anthony.
