Hankook Tire America Corp. is recalling approximately 46,968 Ventus S1 Noble 2 Tires due to a sidewall defect.
Affected tires may develop cracks in the tire sidewall and lose air, causing loss of tire pressure and tire failure, according to NHTSA.
Ventus S1 Noble 2 tires being recalled include:
– size 245/45R18 96W, manufactured from May 20, 2013 – Feb. 14, 2015
– size 245/40R19 94W, manufactured from May 22, 2013 – Feb. 14, 2015, supplied for 2015 Hyundai Genesis vehicles and sold as replacement tires
– size 275/35R19 96W, manufactured from May 22, 2013 – Feb. 14, 2015, supplied for 2015 Hyundai Genesis vehicles and sold as replacement tires
Hankook will notify owners of replacement tires and Hankook dealers will replace the tires, free of charge. Hyundai will notify owners of affected Hyundai vehicles and Hyundai dealers will replace the tires, free of charge. Owners may contact Hankook customer service at 1-800-426-5665.
