Groundbreaking to Begin Construction On Federal’s Second Plant In Taiwan

Federal-Groundbreaking-TaiwanFederal Tire Corp. marked the official start of construction for a $300 million tire plant in Taoyuan Industrial Park, Taiwan, with a ceremonial groundbreaking on Oct. 20. The new plant is Federal’s second tire plant in Taiwan, and third plant overall.

The 150,695-square-meter plant will be completed in two phases, with an expected completion date of 2020. Once the plant is operational, it will employ approximately 900 people and produce an estimated six million passenger and light truck tires a year.

“Building a new factory marks a new chapter for Federal’s global growth strategy and displays Federal’s ambition to march toward a century of success. With the new plant, we can not only grow our business but also meet our client’s needs,” said Da-Wu Chen, global sales and marketing director.

This news also coincides with Federal’s 60-year anniversary. The company’s anniversary slogan is “It’s just the beginning.”

“It’s a brand new start for Federal and we believe that with the solid corporate structure and our firm commitment to product quality, Federal will kick off another prosperous sixty years,” said Chen.
