Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. has opened its first research and development facility in China.
The new R&D center is located at the tiremaker’s Pulandian plant in Liaoning Province and has been established to aid Goodyear’s expansion in China and the Asia Pacific region, according to a report by Tyres & Accessories.
“China is currently the world’s largest and fastest-growing passenger car and commercial truck market, and also an integral part of Goodyear’s global development strategy,” said Rich Kramer, Goodyear chairman and CEO. “The newly-established China R&D center is an important part of our global innovation network and will further strengthen our leadership position in global tire industry innovation.”
