Richard Kramer, chairman, president and CEO of Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., with his wife, Christine, have donated $2 million to John Carroll University in Cleveland, Ohio.
“John Carroll provided an enduring foundation for our lives,” the couple said in a statement. “The cornerstones of critical thinking, servant leadership, and a life of learning were instilled in us by the Jesuits. Our goal is to help the next generation of John Carroll students begin to build their lives in the same way. The timeless skills and values that grow during four years at John Carroll will help students succeed in a constantly changing world. We are pleased to support the university and its mission.”
Alumni of the university, the two are co-chairs for the college’s $100 million Forever Carroll Campaign, which raises funds for scholarships and financial aid. Kramer is also a member of the university’s board of directors.
