Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. has launched its line of premium bike tires.
The line includes over 100 products spanning four categories including road, transit, all-terrain/gravel and mountain bike tires, plus Goodyear’s own tubes and tubeless sealant, Bicycle Retailer reports. Hawley will be the exclusive distributor of Goodyear bike tires, and Goodyear will also sell direct to consumers online starting later this year at GoodyearBike.com.
Developed with Rubber Kinetics, the Goodyear line utilizes refined compounds and casings, each built for their intended environments. With tubeless designs focused on modern usage and sizes, the compounds in Goodyear’s bike tires offer enhanced traction, wear, rolling efficiency and puncture resistance, according to its website.
Goodyear’s first product, launched in 1898, was, in fact, a bicycle tire, but the tiremaker stopped producing bike tires 39 years ago up until recently, Cycling Industry News reports.
