Giti Rolls Out Two New Tires

Giti Tire (USA) has unveiled two new GT Radial branded truck tires. The company introduced the GT Radial GDR619 regional drive tire for medium-sized and light duty trucks, and the GAM835 mixed service tire, for heavy haul service use. GITItires-GDR619-GAM835

“This has been one of the most aggressive years ever for our company introducing new GT Radial commercial tires in North America, all resulting from valuable input from fleets and excellent research, design and testing by the Giti North American Technical Center,” said Patrick Gunn, director of sales and marketing, commercial tire, for Giti Tire (USA) Ltd.

The GT Radial GDR619 features a pattern design with four longitudinal grooves and solid blocks to assist with traction and braking while delivering improved vehicle stability and driver comfort, the tiremaker said.  A new casing and footprint assist with regular wear and treadlife, as well, the tiremaker noted.

The GDR619 is available in four sizes: 215/75R17.5 14 ply, 235/75R17.5 14 ply, 225/70R19.5 14 ply, and 245/70R19.5 16 ply.

GAM835 is designed for on/off road applications. Its casing construction and tread profile provides an optimal footprint for improved wear and vehicle handling, including excellent traction and braking properties, Giti said.  Additionally, the tire features an advanced anti-cut and anti-chip compound that helps protect the casing and increase comfort and stability for the driver. A combined rib and lug pattern design provides high resistance against tread tearing on aggressive road surfaces, the tiremaker said.

The GAM835 is available in three sizes: 11R22.5 16 ply, 11R24.5 16 ply, and 315/80R22.5 20 ply.

Both the GAM835 and GDR619 are backed by a 72-month warranty.

If you could boil this year's Continental Tire GOLD member meeting into one takeaway, it's that the tire manufacturer is putting a whole lot of effort into listening and responding to its dealer base. Continental doesn't own company stores, so building a strong value proposition around the company's brands and products with its distributors and retailers is the most effective path to success. To maximize the mutual benefits of this partnership, Continental leadership says acting on the will of its dealer base – whether that's about product, programs, distribution, or anything else – is paramount.
