Gates Corp. introduced a new timing and serpentine system sales aid, the System Smart Belt Education Display.
The belt display is dual-sided and 3-D interactive and shows how the individual components of the timing and the serpentine systems work together and wear at the same rate, the company said.
Information on the system’s countertop display is presented in English and Spanish. Also included with the display are educational brochures on total system maintenance and a discussion guide for repair shops.
The new education display is part of Gates’ “Be System Smart” educational initiative to help shops educate customers and promotes “inspection of the serpentine and timing systems at 60K miles and replacement of worn components at 90K miles, or as advised by the manufacturer.”
