Fire units were dispatched to Cooper Tire & Rubber Co.’s Texarkana, Ark., plant late at 12:30 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 6., according to Texarkana Today.
Initial radio dispatch advised that sprinklers for one of the plant’s mixers had activated and there was smoke inside, according to reports. Firefighters responded to the scene and reported the fire was out.
Trucks left, only to be called back to the scene to address a fire on the roof of the facility. Firefighters found there was a small amount of smoke coming from the vent stack and dust collectors, according to reports.
Firefighters left the scene by 2:55 a.m. after extinguishing the fire and determining that there was no danger of fire spreading throughout the plant, Texarkana Today reported.
