Sumitomo Rubber North America Inc.’s Falken brand has teamed up with the MLB’s San Diego Padres, as “Official Tire of the San Diego Padres.”
“We’re really excited about our new partnership with the San Diego Padres as we look to expand our brand awareness in Southern California,” said Rick Brennan, vice president of marketing for Falken. “This great opportunity provides Falken Tires with a platform to reach new audiences. Also, with this year’s All-Star game being held in San Diego, we’re planning on doing some really engaging things with MLB, the Padres and their fans.”
As part of the agreement, the Falken brand will be featured throughout the 2016 MLB season on an outfield sign as well as behind home plate signage at select games.
Falken signed a multi-year deal with MLB in September to be Official Tire of Major League Baseball.
Falken Tire Corp. changed its name to Sumitomo Rubber North America Inc. effective Jan. 1, 2016. The change is part of Sumitomo Rubber Industries’ business realignment.
