Customer Service Focus Grows Family Business

Ken-1
Ken Langhals

With $100 and the generosity of a nice man, K&M Tire was founded in 1970 as a two-bay gas station in a small Northwestern Ohio town. With the hope of making enough money to support his family and pay off the debts from a previously failed business venture, Ken Langhals never dreamed that 45 years later his company would be a super-regional wholesale tire distributor with 20 warehouses and over 500 employees.

Leading the company from its humble beginnings to the powerhouse it is today through hard work and dedication, Ken is proud to have his daughter, Cheryl Gossard, driving the second generation at K&M Tire. Currently, she serves as vice president and has been with the company for 20 years. In addition to Cheryl, Ken has three other children, a son-in-law, and five grandchildren working at K&M Tire in various positions.

Ken is honored to have great employees at K&M who do their best every day to take care of the customer. He attributes the success of K&M to all the employees. He has enjoyed being able to watch the employees and the business grow and develop over the years.

With its customer first philosophy, K&M Tire is dedicated to offering brand name products that tire dealers depend on and consumers trust. The company has a team of Outside Sales Reps who work with their tire dealers to help them grow and market their businesses.

Recently, K&M Tire acquired Midwest Tire & Muffler Inc. located in the Dakotas adding two additional locations to the company’s distribution network. Cheryl is excited about the opportunity that adding the facilities in Sioux Falls and Rapid City, SD, brings to the company. “Customer service is our number one priority and we’re looking forward to serving our new customers in these areas with our expansive product offering and dependable deliveries.”
