Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. will award three students with the company’s first ever Cooper Centennial Scholarships.
Instituted in 2014 to commemorate Cooper’s 100th anniversary, the scholarship is designed to help children of Cooper employees to continue their post-secondary education. Three students were selected from more than 30 national applicants, and will receive $1,000 each to continue their education.
This year’s recipients are; Alexandria Magyar, Garrett Schrum, and Adam Seitz.
Magyar is the 18-year-old daughter of James Magyar, Mickey Thompson regional marketing manager, and his wife Teresa. A graduate and valedictorian of Chippewa High School in Doylestown, Ohio, she plans to attend the University of Findlay to study biology.
Schrum is the 17-year-old son of Frank Schrum, energy manager for Cooper’s manufacturing operations in North America, and his wife Marilyn. Schrum is a graduate of Findlay High School and plans to study chemical engineering at the University of Cincinnati.
Seitz is the 18-year-old son of Jill Seitz, Cooper senior systems developer, and her husband David. He is a graduate of Findlay High School and plans to pursue a double major in electrical engineering and computer science at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, Ind.
