Continental Among ‘Best Places to Work’ in U.S.

Continental Tire the Americas is one of 10 large businesses to be recognized as a finalist in the Charlotte Business Journal’s "Best Places to Work" Award.

The award, which recognizes companies with benefits, policies and practices that are among the area’s best, is based on employee surveys conducted by a third party. Roughly 400 CTA employees in the Charlotte area headquarters participated in the survey.

“Our employees are the heart of our business,” said Matthias Schoenberg, CEO of CTA. “Their feedback resulted in CTA being named a finalist for this prestigious award, and that makes this recognition very special.

“CTA has enjoyed business growth in the past two years, despite the poor economy, and our employees deserve the credit for this success,” he continued. “And we’ve worked hard to create for them a work environment that values their contributions and provides them with outstanding careers.”

Previously known as Continental Tire North America, the company announced in February 2010 its name change for both passenger and light truck and commercial vehicle tire divisions to Continental Tire the Americas. The company’s new state-of-the-art, $11 million dollar headquarters is a 75,000 square-foot building which sits on 11.5 acres in northern Lancaster County, S.C.

If you could boil this year's Continental Tire GOLD member meeting into one takeaway, it's that the tire manufacturer is putting a whole lot of effort into listening and responding to its dealer base. Continental doesn't own company stores, so building a strong value proposition around the company's brands and products with its distributors and retailers is the most effective path to success. To maximize the mutual benefits of this partnership, Continental leadership says acting on the will of its dealer base – whether that's about product, programs, distribution, or anything else – is paramount.
