Continental’s 275/35ZR20 ExtremeContact Sport, ultra high-performance has been chosen as the OE fitment for the 2018 Roush Mustang. The ExtremeContact Sport is a dynamic, UHP street tire built for car enthusiasts and engineered for extreme grip in dry and wet conditions.
“A ROUSH Mustang is the zenith of performance among Mustang enthusiasts,” said Travis Roffler, director of marketing for Continental Tire the Americas. “The hours of testing, engineering and thought that goes into designing a ROUSH Mustang is second-to-none. We’re proud to have engineered a performance tire, like the ExtremeContact Sport, to match up to the performance of the ROUSH Mustangs. It’s an honor to be chosen and we think enthusiasts will enjoy this winning combination.”
The new Mustang will be available in Stage 1 and Stage 2 packages. While the ROUSH Stage 1 is powered by Ford’s 310-horsepower 2.3L I-4 EcoBoost power plant, the Stage 2 boasts Ford’s 460-horsepower 5.0L V8 engine.
“One of the most critical building blocks in the performance of a vehicle is the tire,” says Jack Roush Jr. “It’s what connects you to the road, allowing you to accelerate, brake, and turn. The new Continental ExtremeContact Sport tire performs at the highest level possible for dry summer execution, and sets a whole new standard in wet conditions as well.”
Continental ExtremeContact Sport tires will be available as an upgrade on Stage 1 Mustangs, but are standard equipment on every Stage 2. When paired with the optional “TrakPak” 3-Way Coilover Suspension System, the ROUSH Stage 2 achieves an astonishing 1.07 lateral g’s on the skid pad.
The ExtremeContact Sport comes in 71 sizes and is available as a replacement tire for current ROUSH Mustang owners.
