Adam Barfoot joined Bridgestone Americas in 2004 as industrial engineer at the tiremaker’s LaVergne, Tenn., plant. Over the course of his career he’s worked at several of Bridgestone’s plants and is currently plant manager for its OTR facility in Aiken County, S.C.
Barfoot has had a multitude of responsibilities over the years, including education analysis, improvement of and supporting teammates and support staff, and discovering future plant needs and opportunities.
He enjoys the process of tire manufacturing because of its complexity, from the equipment used to produce tires to the amount of technology that goes into the products.
“Tire manufacturing is an incredible process,” Barfoot says. “From passenger tire precision handling and speed to airline tire reliability to off-road tire strength and durability, there are some incredibly innovative products that have been created by companies like Bridgestone, and I get to be a part of the process.”
Barfoot considers success as when you are able to provide a unique activity or skill set that helps accomplish a difficult task that ultimately benefits others.
