Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. has named Mark Chung vice president of strategy and business development for the Americas.
In this role, Chung is responsible for leading the development and execution of Cooper’s North and South America business strategy, spearheading business intelligence, business development and establishing processes to support the company’s growth initiatives in North America, the tiremaker said. He will report to Chris Ostrander, president of Cooper’s Americas Operations.
“Mark brings a wealth of experience in strategic business planning, as well as marketing and sales leadership to Cooper,” said Ostrander. “As we work toward achieving the ambitious goals we have for the Americas region to drive improvements in mix and margin, increase our participation in the original equipment channel, and grow our commercial vehicle and Latin American sales, Mark’s leadership will be instrumental to develop and implement the strategy to attain these goals.”
Most recently, Chung worked as director of global marketing for the filtration business unit of Cummins Inc. Adding to his 15 years of automotive and industry related experience, Chung worked with Yokohama Tire Corp. as director of strategic marketing, corporate strategy and product marketing. He also worked with Ford Motor Co. for five years where he served in a variety of roles.
Chung is a graduate of University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business and has a master’s degree in Business Administration from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business.
