According to Asia & Japan Watch, Bridgestone Corp. will pay approximately $344 million in order to become a sponsor of the International Olympic Committee. The 10-year deal, which begins after the 2016 Summer Olympics, will cover the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and recognize Bridgestone as one of the 11 top-ranked worldwide sponsors under The Olympic Partner program.
The sponsorship allows Bridgestone to use the Olympic logo globally for advertising and other publicity purposes.
According to reports, Bridgestone will likely be given preference in supplying tires for vehicles used to transport athletes and supplies during the Olympic Games and preparation stages.
