Bridgestone Releases UHP Potenza RE-71R

Bstone PotenzaBridgestone Americas said the newly launched Potenza RE-71R tire is its most extreme ultra high performance street tire to date.

“The Potenza RE-71R tire is a unique street tire that stands up to the extreme conditions of the track and also delivers impressive everyday performance,” said Robert Saul, senior product manager. “This tire is designed for enthusiast drivers who demand the most from their vehicles – whether they’re running laps on the track or navigating hairpin turns along their favorite scenic highway.”

According to the tiremaker, the RE-71R features a newly developed tread compound that increases contact with the road surface; a tread pattern with a wide center rib for high responsiveness; maximum shoulder stiffness for constant rubber-to-road contact in sharp turns; and wide circumferential grooves and an angled directional pattern for wet traction.

The RE-71R carries a UTQG rating of 200 AA and is available in 29 sizes ranging from 15- to 19-inch wheel diameters, 55 to 35 series, and speed ratings V and W. An additional four sizes are expected this summer, and there are plans to expand the lineup further in 2016.
