Joe Register has been promoted to serve as the director of emerging technologies for the Auto Care Association.
“Vehicle telematics and all emerging technologies are the association’s top priority, so we are extremely excited to have such a knowledgeable, experienced and well-respected expert to direct our activities in this space,” said Bill Hanvey, president and CEO of the Auto Care Association.
Register joined the Auto Care Association in January as director of technology solutions. During his tenure, he’s helped lead the development of the industry’s next generation of automotive technology standards and solutions, and he served as the technology architect who focused on future vehicle telematics solutions, the association said.
Register has 40 years of experience delivering progressive information system solutions to companies in every channel of the automotive aftermarket. Prior to joining the Auto Care Association, Register led Prescient Technologies Group. In addition, he’s worked in several leadership positions at Canadian Tire Corp. and at Montgomery Ward Automotive.
