Astronaut to Speak at TIA OTR Conference

Mark-Kelly-TIA-KeynoteCaptain Mark Kelly, commander of space shuttle Endeavor’s final mission, will be the motivational speaker at the Tire Industry Association’s 2015 OTR Conference. Kelly’s speech will take place Feb. 20 and is sponsored by BKT Tires.

“We couldn’t be more excited to hear Captain Kelly’s story. He is a true American hero who exemplifies leadership and courage and his story is sure to inspire OTR attendees. We are in for a real treat,” said TIA Executive Vice President Roy Littlefield.

In addition to serving as an astronaut, Kelly is a retired U.S. Navy Captain and aviator, author, and prostate cancer survivor. He was selected as an astronaut in 1996 and flew four different missions.

Kelly also became the center of international attention after the January 2011 assassination attempt on his wife, former U.S. Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords. The couple share their story in their memoir, Gabby.

The OTR Conference will be hosted Feb. 18-21 at the Westin La Paloma Resort & Spa in Tucson, Ariz. For more information, visit tireindustry.org/2015-otr-conference.
