Members of ASA’s Mechanical Operations Committee spoke to Capitol Hill representatives to discuss cyber-security and privacy issues in automotive vehicles. This discussion comes a day after members spoke to representatives about the future autonomous vehicle legislation.
ASA members met with representatives from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the U.S. House Committee on Small Business, as well as the General Motors and Global Automakers Committee and the Future of Privacy Forum to address vehicle security issues.
“These conversations are so important because they will become the foundation for future regulatory and legislative action,” said Frank Leutz, a member of ASA’s Mechanical Operations Committee. “We are here to ensure our industry has a seat at the table.”
